Assassin's Creed I

Story:

The overall story within Assassin's Creed is set in September 2012, Desmond Miles (the character controlled by the player) was kidnapped by an unknown person before the start of the game, and brought to Abstergo Industries, where researchers are working on the project Animus. The Animus is able to pull out memories of the DNA of the user, allowing the user to retrieve these memories as if he were there himself. Desmond was "chosen" for the project due to it being a direct descendant of Altaïr, a member of the Order of Assassins during the Third Crusade to the Holy Land, the researchers express interest in understanding more of how the Assassins worked. Though initially Desmond's subconscious rejects the memories of Altaïr, he eventually learns to accept them and can proceed to follow Altaïr's actions through the Animus, and may be getting more time on the machine.
The memories of Altaïr that Desmond experiences are the beginning of the Year 1191: Richard the Lionheart has just recaptured the port city of Acre to the Muslims win. With a base of operations established, the Crusaders prepare to march south. Their true target is Jerusalem - which they intend to recapture for Christianity. However the Muslim forces are to meet in the ruins of Arsuf, intending to ambush the Crusaders and prevent them from reaching Jerusalem. While Richard and Saladin battle one another, the men left to govern in its place begin to take advantage of their positions of power.
The first experiments in memory of Desmond is that of Altaïr almost murdering the Grand Master of the Knights Templar, Robert de Sable, and recover the treasure of the order. Due to this, Altaïr is demoted to Uninitiated ("no-start") - the lowest rank in the order of assassins. But Al Mualim, leader of the Assassins, offers him an opportunity to regain his honor. Altaïr must venture to the Holy Land and assassinate nine men and exploiting the hostilities created by the Third Crusade. In so doing, stabilize the region, allowing Mualim Usher live in a city of peace (his rank as a murderer is returned after completing a mission, or kill the target).
Throughout the plot, Altaïr discovers that his targets are defined by more than just a shared interest in personal gain, but is in fact the Templars were aimed unity of all mankind under a common cause. In parallel, Desmond learns from emails you read between sessions in the Animus, which Abstergo Industries are currently run by modern Templars, and that in seeking the locations of several artifacts known as the "Piece of Eden," they may continue fighting for the goals of the Templars.
Desmond see who was kidnapped by the company, so you can learn from the memories of Altaïr, where are the other pieces of Eden, that might be buried anywhere in the world. You will also find remains of the killers in modern days, they had tried to recover before the information was obtained by modern Templars.
Altaïr's memories finally reveal that the tasks he undertook was a ploy by the Templars to sow discord between the Assassins and the Crusaders and the Muslims. By doing so, Saladin and Richard the Lionheart would instead work together and in the process, bringing peace for the Templars. Altaïr finally catches up with Robert de Sable, his last assigned target, and defeats him. Robert de Sable reveals in his words, dying, that Altaïr's master is also a member of the Templars, and now has the sole power of the artifact, the "Piece of Eden" that can alter what men can see and can be used for mass hypnosis, (spoiler-is revealed at the end of the game that Al Mualim Altaïr and others used the fellowship to kill the influential men to take control of the kingdom for himself).
Altaïr travels to face his master, who is armed with "Piece of Eden", attempting to alter Altaïr's sight, but eventually falls to his blade. Because Altaïr recovers the "Piece of Eden", the device activates one more time to reveal multiple locations across the globe in an holographic manner (including two locations on landmasses that no longer exist in 2012, the map even shows the current division of countries in 2012 .)
With Altaïr's memory complete, Desmond wakes up out of animus to learn that Abstergo Industries are sending out recovery teams to those locations hoping to find additional artifacts. At one point, Desmond reads an email in the conference room detailing the failed recovery of three other Pieces of Eden, all resulting in disastrous accidents, two resulting in the Philadelphia Experiment and the Tunguska event. The email also speaks of the Holy Grail, indicating there is insufficient evidence to confirm its existence, and "Mitchell-Hedges Communicators", a reference to FA Mitchell-Hedges
Desmond, no longer useful for Abstergo Industries, must be silenced, however, is kept by Lucy Stillman, who reveals herself to be a killer. At the conclusion of the game, Desmond, "synchronize" becoming Altaïr, you can use the eagle vision (a sort of empathic sight to see hidden messages and see who is friend and who is foe, enemy = red / blue = Friend / = white citizen who has information / gold = target), this is due to the fact that long after the Animus, the psyche of the ancestor and descendant mix, and sees messages scrawled across the floors and walls (these messages were written by "Subject 16" the last person before Desmond (you) to use the Animus, the individual uses his own blood to write such messages) can only see that refer to the end of the world described by several religions, among other writings, such writings include references to the biblical passage Revelation 22:13 ("I am Alpha and Omega, the first and last, the beginning and the end."), a Lorenz Attractor, the Eye of Divine Providence, and other written in foreign languages (Chinese, German ...). Additionally, there is the Mayan date of 13.0.0.0 - December 21, 2012, three months before the time that happens the game, which is the last day of the Mayan calendar.

Assassin's Creed II

Story:

Assassins Creed 2 began with Desmond's escape from Abstergo (the Templars), along with Lucy. After escaping, they meet a group of modern day Assassins, with their own, improved Animus. They ask Desmond to use their Animus to relieve the memories of Ezio Auditore, an Italian assassin to find information on the pieces of Eden, and to improve Ezio's skill as an assassin.

Ezio's part in the plot begins with the execution of his family as part of a conflict between nobles that is related to the Assassins/Templar conflict. Ezio discovers his father's past as an assassin, and on the influence of his uncle Mario, takes his father's place. During this point, the main villain Rodrigo Borgia, becomes obvious. When Ezio finally confronts Borgia, he discovers that Borgia has one of the pieces of Eden, which he then takes.

Ezio's allies to this point reveal they are all Assassins, and that they believe Ezio is a prophet. They take him into their ranks.

The next two sections of the game are DLC only, so I will skip these as many players will not have played them.

When you return to Ezio, he is much older (now with his distinctive beard), Borgia has become Pope. Ezio runs through a level in Rome, and finally comes to the Pope in the middle of giving a Mass. He tries to kill Borgia stealthily, and for a moment it appears successful, but then you find out that the Papal Staff is another Piece of Eden. Ezio loses this fight, and when he comes around, you have to follow Borgia for a little while, and fight him once more. This time he does not have the papal staff as he has used it to open a special chamber. Ezio also discards his weapon, and you fight hand to hand. Ezio declines to kill Borgia, as he does not see any gain from it.

Finally you enter the chamber that Borgia had been trying to enter, finding a hologram of a god-like being called Minerva, which explains of how those beings and humankind had fought for a long time, but following a global catastrophe worked together to rebuild the world, but her people still died out. You discover that she was speaking directly to Desmond, through Ezio.

At this point, Abstergo finds the Assassins, and they have to flee, and the game ends.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

Story:

The game begins immediately after the events of Assassin's Creed II, in 1499, when Monteriggioni (or Villa Auditore) is attacked by the army Borgia, led by Cesare Borgia. During the battle, Ezio's uncle, Mario, is dead and the apple of Eden is stolen. The game then progresses through the year 1503, where Ezio Auditore, now a Master Assassin, you should seek in the streets of Rome by his uncle's killers and restore the apple of Eden, the key element for the Assassins.
