God of War II was released in North America on March 13, 2007. Betrayed by Zeus, Kratos is rescued by Titan Gaia, who says that Kratos now has to find the Sisters of Fate. The Sisters can change his destiny and avoid their death at the hands of Zeus. Kratos is finally successful, and learns from a dying Athena (who sacrificed himself to save Zeus and thereby preserve Olympus) that he is the son of Zeus. Kratos then join forces with Gaia and the Titans, in an attack on Olympus.
